Jack Goes To Boomtown Days

…and is not impressed.

Okay, before I start my picture story here, I have to show you a beautiful shot of Jack’s hair, because I’m the blogger and I love it, and that’s how I roll.

Now, Jon and I made a special effort to take Jack to Boomtown Days in Joplin a week or so ago.  We assumed, as most young parents, that our efforts would be appreciated, but of course, they were not.  Jack did not find the rows of booths and various entertainment entertaining in the least.  Probably because it was 135 degrees outside and he’s 21 months old.

He pretty much whined the whole time, UNTIL we found the playground.  Escape from the stroller! We climbed for approximately 75 hours, up and down the steps, up and down.Jack climbs the playground at Boomtown days in Joplin

Assuming once again, Jon thought he would enjoy the slide.  Not enjoying.

THEN… we discovered the tunnel.  Precisely, we discovered that sticking your face in the side of the tunnel and saying peekaboo was pretty stinkin’ funny.

And Mommy discovered that there was awesome light, right at the opening of the tunnel.  Love it! I’m going to start working exclusively at playground tunnels.  I hope my next family of five will fit in one.  (Not really).  But the light was good.

When Mommy and Daddy c0uldn’t take it anymore, we went to The Red Onion Cafe in downtown Joplin.  I had a turkey sandwich of which I can’t recall the exact menu title, but it would make you slap your mama.  Respectfully, of course.   Jack enjoyed his drink, and reading the menu.  And putting the menu on his head, saying, “Hat!”

Posing, very grudgingly.

And then… naptime.  For everyone.  Whew.
