First stop: the barn!  Animals!  Yay!  Every toddler should be delighted!

But when Jack first saw this:

This was the reaction:

There was a sense of mutual interest and subtle aversion, the latter mostly on Jack’s part.  The goat was pretty much down for whatever.

After his first trip to Barnyard Life, we rewarded Jack with ice cream.  (And thank you, Sugar Creek Gobblers, for providing the ice cream!)

See how easy that went down? This technique works for many adults, too.  And some pets. Jack’s fair experience definitely ended on a happy note!

Wait, don’t go! One more picture!  Unusual light from the fading thunderstorm that just had to be photographed.  With my favorite two faces, of course.  What’s light unless it illuminates something precious?
