Jack and Clara, of course, our most favorite subjects in all the world.
When we brought Jack home from the NICU, he was a tiny four pounds, ten ounces (up a pound from his birth weight). He was one month old.
I wanted a similar image of Clara, to show the difference between the two. Clara weighed eight pounds, 15 ounces at birth and was already ten pounds, 11 ounces by her one-month doctors appointment.
Look at those glorious fat rolls!
I posted more images of our first family portraits on my personal Facebook profile, click through to see them!
Welcome to Calotype.
Here, in our beautiful natural light studio, there’s no hot, unforgiving sunlight bearing down. It’s not 106 degrees. It’s cool and comfortable, and you can wear your new winter coat and hat.
At Calotype, children smile a lot.
They do things they love, like drawing on chalkboards.
They pose like we direct, and sometime they come up with their own poses.
They get sleepy sometimes, but that’s okay.
They’re always lovable, no matter their mood.

Here’s Jack, the Calotype Poster Child, earning his room and board. One day he will thank us.
