Let’s skip the legal jabber and spell it out, okay?

All the pictures on this website, unless stated otherwise, are the property of Calotype Photography.   We created them, through much blood, sweat and possibly tears, and we own them.  It is illegal to download them, put them on CD, and take them to Wal-Mart and print little bitty 4×6′s because “they’re just so cute”.  Not only will Wal-Mart not allow you to do this, it’s a CRIME.  First, because it’s stealing.  Second, because it makes you look like a cheapskate.  Both of these are really unattractive options.

BUT…. and I draw this out, because it’s really important and I want you to read it…. B…U…T…………………

Calotype does give you the special permission to download these images and then upload them again to your Facebook profile, or MySpace, or your blog, or your iPhone, or whatever digital/social media you’re into.  You can also use them for slideshows, such as for birthday parties or graduations.  We just have some simple terms:

• Don’t alter the image.  For example, don’t try to turn it black and white and then add red creepy werewolf eyes.

• Don’t crop the image.  Don’t crop the logo out.  The image has been artistically cropped, and if you start fooling with it, it will look like someone who doesn’t know what they’re doing has been fooling with it.  So no fooling.

• Don’t use pictures of people you don’t know.  That’s just extremely creepy and bothersome.  Most of the people that follow the Calotype Blog are one big happy family, but for you red-headed stepchildren with unholy vengeance, don’t take pictures and be creepy with them.

TO OUR CLIENTS: We absolutely love you!  You’re the reason we have these beautiful images to post!  Post away, just never, ever print.  These images are web-quality only; the color profiles have been stripped.  Quality prints can always be ordered by calling the studio at 417.845.1151.
